PESHAWAR:
A senior member of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa council relinquished his position on Monday in protest against the party’s alleged deviation from welfare-oriented policies.
“The rulers have snatched clothes, bread and shelter (the party’s motto) from the people instead of providing them these basic necessities of life,” said Haji Niaz Muhammad while addressing a news conference.
He said he willingly joined PPP for its socialist ideology and is being compelled to leave because the party has been lost its cause. He said he was particularly disgruntled after Provincial Health Minister Zahir Ali, Federal Minister of Communication Arbab Alamgir, PPP Provincial President Senator Sardar Ali and PPP Senior Provincial Minister Raheem Dad Khan did not take his requests of initiating development projects in Tappa Mohmand area seriously.
He accused senior party workers of being corrupt and added that the party has provided no relief to the people against power outages, unemployment and inflation during the last four years.
