LAHORE: Intelligence agencies have confirmed that Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has shown serious concerns about the disclosure of an assassination plot against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan. Extracts of the report circulated to police and law enforcement agencies revealed that TTP has threatened Ishtiaq Mehsud with dire consequences if the leaked news is not retracted. In light of the seriousness of the security threat, intelligence agencies and law enforcement agencies are undertaking close coordination to ensure security of the PTI leader. The reports of an assassination plot, subsequently denied by TTP, made headlines after Imran Khan announced his intention to lead a march into restive North Waziristan to demonstrate solidarity against repeated drone strikes.
