KARACHI:

A drug court has issued arrest warrants against Aslam Khakwani, a former SHO of Defence, for contempt of court in a fake drugs case pending before the court.

According to the prosecution, the Defence police and health department officials had raided a pharmaceutical company manufacturing counterfeit drugs in Defence on July 28.

The company’s owner, Aftab Jafri, and his son Yahya Aftab Jafri were arrested.

The police also seized the machinery and fake medicines at the factory. The statements of the witnesses were recorded but the case was pending because the SHO did not testify before the court.

The court had sent several notices summoning him but the officer refused. On Saturday, the non-bailable warrants for Khakwani were issued through the SSP concerned, who was ordered to bring the respondent to the court.
