KARACHI: Representatives of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) Workers Union as well as the Peoples’ United Workers Union went to the office of the archives minister, Muhammad Rafique Engineer, on Friday and asked him why employees of the organisation had not been given their salaries. They told him that the government had slashed the Octroi Zilla Tax grant by 30 to 40 percent, which why thousands of employees of the District Municipal Corporation (South) have not been paid their salaries for the last three months.
