‘Ready to return if my corpse can solve Karachi’s issues’

Altaf Hussain says he will fight for the traders' rights till his last breath. PHOTO: FILE

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain said that if his corpse can solve the issues of Karachi, then he is ready to return immediately. He was addressing an iftar dinner in Karachi on Monday.

Taking up the issues of Karachi, Hussain said that the extortion mafia has strengthened in the city, and if these activities are not curbed within four days, then the traders should take the issue in their own hands and defend themselves.

The government does not have the courage of holding talks with those involved in extortion, exhorted Hussain and added that he will fight for the traders’ rights till his last breath.

Commenting on the ongoing rift between the parliament and the judiciary, the party chief said that it has not yet been decided whether the parliament is superior or the Supreme Court, but, no one can take away the parliament’s rights to formulate laws.

Hussain also criticised the Supreme Court and said that the apex court could take notice and send a prime minister back home, but has not been able to do anything about the dead bodies surfacing in Balochistan every day.

Altaf Hussain on many occasions have said that he will return to Pakistan but he is always stopped by his followers and supporters due to security concerns. I would also suggest Altaf hussain to stay abroad and take some positive intiavtives from abroad so that people of Pakistan are not left on the mercy of Hypocratic polticians who have left no stone unturned to malign Pakistan Soverighnty and Strenght.
Further I ask the people of Pakistan why they care so much about Altaf hussain he doesn’t have a public portfolio minstry or any other public office so what is the point of him being present in Pakistan where his life is threatend.
Anyways all the ministers public representatives and governor office bearers of MQM are in Pakistan to help Pakistani People why they want Altaf Hussain.

I have an idea for Pakistani politics that can solve several problems that have been plaguing the country for decades. There should be a law that must have the following two simple provisions for anybody who wishes to engage in politics or wishes to seek a public office.

You must be a resident of the country (means being present in it for the majority of any given year) to engage in politics.
You must voluntarily place yourself on the ECL for a period of 2 years after relinquishing a public office. Should you need to travel for medical or personal reasons (whatever they might be) you must place a bond of several million which will be held until a certain date. If you fail to return by the date, you forfeit the money.

Enough of these politicians running away as soon as they are done with their terms.

    Mohtaram Altaf Hussain Sahib:

You do not need to return just to solve the problems of Karachi, as you can do it while living in London.

What you need to do is to ask MQM workers to make sure that crimes in Karachi should come to a complete halt and I am sure that the crime rates in Karachi will be decreased considerably.

So please if it is possible than stay here in your own country, which is passing through its vulnerable phase of its history, direly needs you Bhai. Good leaders never leave their native country in lurch. Hope you soon you will return from ” Pardes” to lead masses in revolution but kindly don’t call ‘ Deep State” to intervene and don’t ask them to topple down democratic process though its infant and worst.Recommend

True leaders face hardships with their people by staying with them, only cowards run away whenever tough times befalls on them & on their people, and you are one of the cowards :) you & your party are only interested in power sharing whereas people are so sick and tired of this collation government, which you are part of it. Height of hypocrisy = MQM

The officials responsible for the safety of karachi’s citizen are not sincere. Why can’t hidden Police snipers with video cameras at every chowrangi of Karachi be placed with shoot to kill orders. Whenever they see armed men just hunt them up like they do it to the innocent citizens of karachi. It is not rocket science and can be very effective to prevent crimes and violence.

If we have it and few thugs gets killed and got filmed for court and media evidence, the city will get cleaned in no time.

Altaf Hussain is the supreme commander of his party. He runs party with an iron fist, He is dreaded by friends and foes alike. His telephone addresses to the ‘millions’ of his followers are words of his typical wisdom. His dyslexic speech carries meaning in it. Sometime he whistles and sometimes he dances like peacock of the desert of Pakistan. Today’s address to his distinguished guests who came to his GHQ at Nine Zero carried sinister annotation and that was obviously directed against the chief executive of the province who was one his guests. The supreme commander of the MQM said that from now on ‘there will be either the dead bodies of extortionists or those of his party workers’.
Poor CM. He is such a powerless chief executive that he did not have guts to raise objection against what MQM supremo said. My feeling is the Altaf’s statement will be harbinger of a new wave of deadly violence in Karachi. The current government is just an spectator and is pursuing policy of reconciliation.

    @Babubhai Paanwala, Ph.D.:

And your logic would be…? There’s no need for a similar restrictions in Canada, or the US, or Western Europe. Western democracies have come far enough that one doesn’t run away from the country to wage politics. The judicial system, and the rule of law has similarly come a long way and is far more transparent. You can rely on institutions more than in nascent democracies like Pakistan where institutions are still trying to draw the lines in the sand.

    @ sania hadi
    .
I have lived in Karachi for almost 23 years and I have seen MQM and other Parties rise and fall.
Karachites and Pakistanis should see for themselves they were in power in Musharraf Era and they were complete in charge of Karachi and Hyderabad and every one in this country saw dramatic development in Karachi and Hyderabad even Law and Order was one the best in Country’s 60 year history.
Even our country’s elected judiciary has appreciated Mayor Mustufa Kamal and he is the only mayor in Pakistan who was nominated Second Best Mayor in World.

    Action Speak Louder Than Words

My point being why we need Altaf Hussain In Pakistan for he has categorically said that he doesn’t want any public office and he will guide his followers and Karkuns only and that is what he is exactly doing Guiding his followers and Karkuns, And his party public office holders helping people of Pakistan.
And Sania Baji please don’t put false allegations about Bhatta and Extortion can you provide me with any proof of extortion which was done by MQM……….Think for Pakistan
