    A great win. Lets keep the winning run. I wish our government and bigwigs divert some of the funds to build the international standard sports infrastructure. So, we can cheer for our team in other 30 something sports in Olympics and other international competitions.

    @Saim Baig:

    Why would Allah help Pakistan to take the Gold and not the other teams?
    On what basis would you make that demand from Allah?

    Why can’t we say instead:

    May Allah keep them injury free. or
    May Allah help them to stay healthy.

    This way you won’t be putting Allah into any dilemma.

    Or, are we saying that Allah is biased towards Muslims?

    There is nothing wrong in making a demand from Allah. Why do students pray that they get good grades in exams. Because Allah has said that prepare yourself well and then leave the rest to me. So its perfectly all right to pray to Allah and ask for something.

    There is no need for a basis for asking from Allah.

    Congratulations. i did not see the match for fear of losing. Seriously, I believe Pakistan won due to ALLAH TAALA ‘s blessing. Otherwise we know our team is very weak. I just have a feeling that Pakistan will win the GOLD this time.

    Any one here remember our cricket 1992 worldcup winning compaign which was also held during RAMZAN. And entire nation prayed and wept. Pakistan team was one of the weakest, but the nation prayed and it was Ramzan ul Mubarik.
    Now I have a feeling history is repeating itself.

    My LORD, please give us the gold in hockey here. Our entire nation desperately needs this one small gift from you during RAMZAN and during our month of August in which you gave us the beautiful gift of Pakistan. AMEEN.

    14TH August this time is very close to 27th night of Ramzan, and may b in Laila Tul Qadr. The best night, which is better than a thousand months. And this will not happen for another 30 or 40 years. It happened before during 1947 when Pakistan was created and Muslims of subcontinent received a huge gift from ALLAH.

    I sense, something extraordinary and big has been planned for pakistanis this time as well by ALLAH. This which will save our ship of PAKISTAN from the turbulent waters of terrorism,lawlessness, corrupt rulers, traitors etc same as it has been by the leadership of Quid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. A famous song soon after the independence, the words are
    ( HAM LAYAY HAAN TOOFAAN SAY KASHTI NIKAAL KAR. ISS MULK KO RAKHNA MERAY BACHOON SAMBHAAL KAR). The sign is towards the unmatchable struggle of the Muslims of subcontinent under dynamic leadership of Quid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

    Let us get united and save our dearest PAKISTAN. We have to stand up, because God help those who help themselves. It is our Pakistan.

    Pakistan ZINDABAD.

    Pakistan Hockey we are with you, let us fight out there for our National Anthem broadcasting at the victory stand.

    Our Nation just needs One big Good News. This will act as a spark to ignite the unlimited resourceful engine of the ship of Pakistan which will start its journey over the limitless horizons of success, peace, happiness and love for the entire Pakistani Nation and the Muslim world.

    @SJ:
    Are you nuts man? Being Muslim its our common practice to pray to Allah Almighty whatever we want. If someone wants team Pakistan to win then whats the harm in praying and asking Allah for that? Your statement implicates that if Pakistani team pray for success before the match then you would not like it too.

    Btw, great victory team Pakistan. Go Green shirts.

    Congratulations for Team Pakistan.

    They played very good but they need to focus in coming matches to go after the ball snatch it and take it to the Goal , not only waiting for the passes and ball to arrive to them and play. The Team GB , Australia and South Africa are very good teams. No doubt Pakistan Team is brave off sure better than Team India. I pray for their health.

    Team need to concentrate more and do not get tired. .

    I hope Pakistan players will win matches and have gift for Eid. :) Looking forward for medal.

    Looking at the position, the draw or wining with a narrow margin may not be enough to reach the semi finals. They need to set the bar high enough for themselves to pile up the goals in each and every match of the round.
