MQM wants to unite parties to solve national issues in a better way, says Farooq Sattar.
ISLAMABAD: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) delegation, tasked at meeting several political and religious parties of the country, met with the second-largest opposition party Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (JUI-F) on Saturday.
Head of delegation Farooq Sattar, speaking to the media after the meeting, reiterated his party’s stance of ‘uniting all the political parties of the country for the greater good’.
“We need to start working on solving issues from now on to ensure better working in the future,” said Sattar while thanking JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman.
Rehman, in turn, also thanked Sattar and MQM chief Altaf Hussain for calling for unity in the country.
“The country is facing serious challenges which need to be solved with national unity,” said Rehman adding that his party has also always stressed on the importance of unity.
The MQM has already met with President Asif Ali Zardari, the Jamaat-i-Islami (JI), Awami National Party (ANP), Pakistan Muslim League – Quaid (PML-Q) and Pakistan Sunni Tehreek in Islamabad.
According to the MQM, the party will announce a date for the planned roundtable conference after the meetings with political parties conclude.

It would be naïve to curse MQM even on their attempt to unite the nation just on assumptions that their motive is to delay the general elections! to hold the elections on time is not the responsibility of MQM, rather, Govt., elections commission, supreme court & all the stakeholders are responsible for that.
No doubt MQM is doing a great job by calling all the national leadership at one platform.
