FAISALABAD: Chak Jhumra police have claimed that a proclaimed offender (PO) was killed on Monday night in a shootout, while his two accomplices fled the scene. SSP (Operations) Chaudhry Sadiq Dogar said that SHO Rana Mazharul Haq signalled the three men, on a motorbike, to stop at a picket on the Chiniot-Jhumra Road. Instead, they shot at the police and tried to flee. Police chased and fired at them. One of them was hit and fell off the bike. The remaining two fled. The deceased was later identified as Kashif, a resident of Chak 103-RB, Phalahi. SSP Dogar said that Kashif was wanted in five murder and robbery cases. He said a police team, supervised by Madina Town SP Tahir Maqsood Channa, has been directed to trace the absconders.
