LAHORE: The Punjab Assembly was told on Wednesday that the All Pakistan Newspaper Society (APNS) has rejected the Auditor General (AG)’s report about an additional payment of Rs210m to the Midas advertising company and a third party audit is being done now as the APNS had suggested. Many members expressed their concern that the AG’s report has been rejected on the suggestion of no other than the beneficiary party and the rules do not allow this. The members demanded that the issue be handed over to a house committee.
