KARACHI: Seven people including security in-charge of Awami National Party (ANP) were killed on Thursday in target killing incident with Airport Police limits.

Police sources told The Express Tribune that the incident took place near Star gate at around 4.15 pm when some gunmen shot and killed Ubaidullah Yousufzai and Saleem Akhtar. The bodies were shifted to Jinnah Hospital where a large number of people gathered and chanted slogans against the killers.

According to spokesperson for ANP Yousufzai was security in-charge (Saalar) of their party and was working in Cargo Department of PIA.

Violent reaction

In reaction to the killings, some people came out to protest on the streets and set a bus on fire in Sultanabad. Sources in the Fire Brigade department said that the enraged people threatened the rescue staff who rushed to extinguish the fire.

There were also reports of aerial firing at the mortuary and stones being pelted on moving vehicles. Markets and shops have closed down in certain areas.

As if the flood was not enough! huh!
Yet again Karachi has been hijacked by MQM and ANP. There seems to be little hope for a common man.Recommend

The man killed was a string candidate for ANP Sindh chairmanship. Its seem like an internal conflict within ANP.Recommend

whoever dies, why do we allow a public & destructive protest, fine i understand your party worker died, that don’t mean u burn buses spread more terror!!. Just issue shoot @ sight orders to tell them this is not acceptable. This goes out for all political parties who we know very well what their standard operating procedure is when one of their workers is attackedRecommend

Ah! When ANP activist is gunned down, many people from MQM think it is an internal conflict of ANP. But when an MQM activist is gunned down, yes, that’s always ANP or Talibans behind the cold-blooded murder. Such comments just make me feel sick! Usual blame-game.

It is a big shame that despite 1/3rd of Pakistan is under the water, the political parties of Pakistan are still busy in personal enmity and blame-game.Recommend

MQM – ANP – Sindhis everyone continues to suffer at the hands of a corrupt and inept government and administrative system. I wish we were still a part of India, at least then we would be talking of better things like technology, education and advancement. And before any of you chokes, there are more muslims in india then in pak, and if any of you have ever had an honest conversation with them, a vast vast majority are happy to be there and patriotic because of the way their country treats them. this country is an embarrassment, what a waste of 60 yearsRecommend

tanzeel! it is not the America’s war of terror. it is our owm war, which is the result of anti afghan policy of pakistani establishment. Drone attacks dont kill innocent pashtoon, Drones target the hideouts of terrorists. pashtoons consider drone as ABABIL.Recommend

    @ Kakar:

Do you know last year NWFP assembly had passed a “unanimous” resolution against drone attacks ? But US never stopped drones and continued to kill innocent Pashtoons (as per ANP led NWFP assembly) but ANP is still supporting US ?

If ANP is against drones and they think US Drones killing innocent pashtoons then why on earth they are supporting America ?Recommend

Karachi Police has arrested criminals involved in killing of MQM MPA, Syed Raza Haider and they are said to be affiliated with LJ. So I think now MQM should start target killing of Lashkar Jhangvi and Sipah Sahaba activists instead of innocent settlers. This will also help in curtailing Talibanization threat which MQM believes a reality not a propaganda.Recommend

It seems that there is no respite from the on-going bloodbath that has engulfed the
metropolis for quite sometime now. Only two weeks back we witnessed the horrific
killing of the MNA which left the city paralysed for three days when yet another
incident hampers the efforts to return to mormalcy. It seems as if the administration
has gone into hibernation, taking no measures to curtail this killing spree. The leaders
come at the foreforont only to condemn these heinous acts but are too lethargic to adopt
any course of action. If this state persists I an afriad anarchy will catch fire in the
city, and will bring the whole economy to standstill. Its high tine that this issue is
dealt with severity by the concerned authorities before the situation spirals out of
    control.Recommend

    @Tanzeel
You are probably too inspired by the fantasy conspiracy theories.
Ubaidullah was one the key activists and Security officials of Awami National Party and was killed in the consequence of Targeted Killings by a lingual gang who’s taken the city hostage.
He’s been assassinated by the same terrorists who soaked the city in a blood bathe soon after the killing of Reza Haider.
These terrorists justified the killings of poor Pakhtoons by blaming the ANP for the murder of Reza Haider.Recommend

Who is real culprit behind the scene,
    we still failed to find.

It is wrong to say,MQM and ANP are responsible for the unrest,
wrong absolutely wrong,I am disagree with the idea being expressed by different brains with different styles.

ANP and MQM are a parties with signatory of an agreement, the parties have direct contact with the people, both have large number of workers so can not involve in such activities because there is no interests of such game that is basically not a political one.

Then the question is that who is behind the scene, who is really responsible for unrest, target killing, bloodshed, who is playing with innocent people’s life ?It is a sign of interrogation before us.

Struggle,in regard to independent of Kashmir is on peak, Indian forces looks failed before Kashmir’s activists,Pakistan is front line supporter of them so the struggle going on is being targeted by the quarter concerned so under a considered plan, for removing attention of Pakistan on the killing of innocent Kashmires a game is being played inside Pakistan.

We should take it seriously and put the investigation to the right direction.Recommend

What is wrong with you people? Your country is drowning and your corrupt government is begging all over the world for donations and the people are killing each other in the streets. Pakistan is worse than a failed state and is suffering divine retribution for its social malaise. No rational person would donate a cent to such violent uncivilized people.Recommend

The British Raj shamelessly used the ‘divide and rule’ principle to exploit the Muslims and Hindus while creating differences among them. I believe this principle is still in use in Pakistan. We can clearly see who is benefitting by creating this unrest in Karachi. Kill a few MQM people and then kill a few ANP people, the next day they will fight each other ruthlessly. It’s a game that ‘someone else’ is playing while staying clear of the playing field. You got to be really naive if you don’t see the writing on the wall!Recommend
