RAWALPINDI: Former director-general health Dr Rasheed Jumma, who is an approver in the ephedrine quota case, has mysteriously disappeared, Express News reported on Friday.

He had contacted the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) investigative team and his counsel two days back and today, he was scheduled to get his statement recorded in the trial court.

Dr Jumma, nominated for approving illegal allotment of quotas of ephedrine, had volunteered to become a state witness in the case against other accused.

The court was informed about his disappearance.

A high court bench had directed the trial court to record the former health DG’s statement as prosecutor’s witness and issued notices to the investigation agency and the accused in a criminal revision petition.
