KARACHI: Senator Faisal Raza Abidi has resigned from the post of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) president Karachi division, but party sources claim that he has been removed due to complaints received from local leadership of the party.

Abdul Qadir Patel has been given Abidi’s post.

Abidi was made president of the Karachi division in November last year.

PPP Karachi division spokesperson, Kausar Amir said that Abidi had resigned because of health reasons and had also been admitted to the hospital. Sources within the party have said that the local leadership had made many complaints against him for being “inattentive” and had not been giving time to the party and its workers.

Abidi had earlier contested from NA-253 against Haider Abbas Rizvi of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) during the 2008 elections.

He had been selected as the president of PPP’s Karachi division after the elections but was removed after a year after complaints were received. The PPP leader has been a part of the Central Executive Committee (CEC) since 2008 and member of Senate since 2009.

Elections are coming and in Pakistan we have a circle and he will be elected again by Stupids and then again they will whine for another 4.5 years after election year and in the last six months he and many others will resign to save the face of the party and this cycle will continue. So not a big deal for me.

In a country where people get displaced every year from floods, and still vote ppp candidates , insult is a small word, they body organs for money, you have not seen the poverty level so keep quite.Recommend

@Awans: Can’t agree more with you.
@sillysilva: Kindly accept the reality no matter what it is, this is the reality that the base of our political system is lie and false promises. Most people of Pakistan are easily manipulated due to lack of quality education.

The right to choose and self-determination should be laid emphasis on only when the ‘self’ or the ‘people’ have the capacity and intellect to make decisions and to stand for a principle. In a country where the literacy rate is hardly 50%, women are oppressed from making any decisions in the majority of the country, and all that the youth can do is act as if they are in a freaking Imran Hashmi movie; Im sorry, but such a country deserve no right to choose. For more than half a century, we have seen what such ‘right to choose’ has done for us. Wonders, hasnt it? So thanks, but no thanks.

The people of Pakistan seem to be stupid enough to elect liars who claim the moon but perform in the negative. They loot the country and how can people who understand this not point it out to the ones that do not seem to understand whats happening.
