Nawaz Sharif’s leadership

Published: July 1, 2012

EDMONTON, CANADA: This is with reference to Farrukh Khan Pitafi’s article “Nawaz Sharif’s dilemma” (June 30). Nawaz Sharif’s leadership abilities, or the lack of them, have disappointed many over the years. The PML-N chief has disappointed the public not only during the last four years of ‘friendly opposition’ that he provided to the PPP-led coalition government, but also due to his party’s poor performance in governing Punjab. Added to this, were his decision of bringing cronies of General (retd) Pervez Musharraf into the party fold, his lack of vision and direction. Before that, he packed his bags and left for Saudi Arabia, leaving his party workers at the mercy of the dictator. Where is the leadership in this?

Nawaz Sharif did not disappoint public, he disappointed establishment who wanted to use him against government. Well played Mian Sahib..Hope during PML(N)’s tenure, opposition parties will disappoint establishment (public) the same way.
