DERA GHAZI KHAN:

Two men were caught and brutally beaten up in Sameena Sadat area on charges of breaking in a house for a robbery early on Thursday morning.

The suspects, identified as Muhammad Farooq and Ghulam Shabbir, were taken to Dera Ghazi Khan district headquarters (DHQ) hospital. Deputy Medical Superintendent Amir Hayat said they had suffered multiple fractures in their legs and bruises in arms. He said the suspects would need a month to recover from their injuries. Darahma police said they would transfer the suspects to the jail hospital as soon as there was some improvement in their condition. SHO Naeem Girmani said they had registered a robbery attempt case against the two men. The police, however, did not plan to prosecute anyone for the assault on the suspects. The SHO said there was no way the police would be able to identify any of the attackers.

“We have recovered a pistol from the two men. There is considerable evidence against them,” he said.
