Air Vice Marshal promoted to Air Marshal rank

ISLAMABAD: The Government of Pakistan has promoted Air Vice Marshal Sohail Gul Khan to the rank of Air Marshal, an official announcement said on Wednesday.

Air Marshal Sohail Gul Khan was commissioned in the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) on 20 April, 1979 in the GD (P) Branch.

During his career, he commanded the Combat Commanders’ School, a fighters’ wing, an operational air base and an Air Command.

He has qualified the Combat Commanders’ course, Air War Course and National Defence Course. He has also completed his Masters in Defence Studies from King’s College, London and holds an MSc in Defence and Strategic Studies from National Defence University, Islamabad.

He has also served in China as a leader of the JF-17 development team.

He has also been decorated with an Hilal-i-Imtiaz (Military), Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military) and Tamgha-i- Imtiaz (Military).
