KARACHI:

Continuous targeted killings, attack on the Mohabat-e-Sindh rally on May 22, Lyari operation, and other forms of violence prompted writers, lawyers, journalists, office bearers of different unions and students to unite at the platform of the Sindh Civil Society Forum (SCSF).

The conference titled ‘Social and political situation of Sindh’ was organised by the SCSF in collaboration with the Pakistan Institute of Labour Education and Research (PILER) and Strengthening Participatory Organiation (SPO) at the Karachi Press Club on Tuesday.

“We are part of a disturbed and broken society,” said Karamat Ali, the PILER executive director. “We demand the state, political parties and other stakeholders to bring an end to all inhumane actions,” stated the resolution passed at the end of the conference. The resolution condemned the demands and attempt to divide Sindh and resolved to work for unity and peace in the city.
