The Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) and Sindh Doctors Welfare Association (SDWA) condemned the statement of the adviser on interior affairs, Rehman Malik about age limit for surgeons.
“If the chief minister of 85 and 75 years can rule Sindh and Balochistan, a doctor can operate as well,” said a press statement. PMA Sindh had given a draft of Health Commission to the health department and Sindh government around 20 months ago.
The draft was made an act in November 2010 in Punjab. The bill comprises all rules and regulations to regularise hospitals and clinics but the government does not present this bill in the assembly. The Health Commission Bill formulated a commission of highly trained people, who can investigate any mishap, but a doctor’s reputation cannot be maligned before investigations.
