Tennis: Kvitova suffers shock loss

Reigning Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova was defeated by unseeded Ekaterina Makarova 7-5 6-4 at Eastbourne, according to the BBC. She was disappointed with her first-round loss, a week before the start of Wimbledon. “It’s not good preparation but I have some time before Wimbledon,” said Kvitova. “I have to work hard now to improve my game.”
