England’s Football Association is facing action from Uefa after some fans attempted to invade the pitch after the side’s victory over Sweden, European football’s governing body said in a statement yesterday.
Europe’s football governing body said that its disciplinary committee would hear the case on Wednesday regarding ‘the inappropriate behaviour of England’s supporters — attempted invasion of the field of play’.
Earlier, Uefa charged the Russian Football Union after fans were filmed fighting with stewards after their match against Poland.
