APA Landi Kotal Khalid Khan confirmed the casualties.
According to sources, the blast took place in a passenger vehicle which had 5kg explosives planted in it.
Officials said that at least two to three people were still trapped under the debris.
The blast affected nearby shops, including one of gas cylinders that blew up, setting the shop and other nearby shops on fire.
The injured were shifted to Landi Kotal Headquarters Hospital. Nine of them who were critical were shifted to a hospital in Peshawar.
Police and security forces reached the scene and cordoned off the area.
Witnesses said that children were also present during the time of the blast.
The area is a central point for Khyber Agency as people go to all parts of the agency from this place.

Taleban cannot survive without creating anarchy they know it well and doing precisely what they have to do for survival. If there is peace in Pakistan what would their role be?

I would argue that Pakistan's policy of selectively choosing which terrorist are good and which are bad have contributed to this problem. Maybe it's time to take a firm stance against all terrorist and join the consensus of the rest of the international community?
The saga continues. The blame game and scapegoating is a convenient deflection for the real reasons why terrorists operate with impunity and carte blanche in Pakistan. The usual suspects are named and nobody questions the authorities when they use their diversionary tactics to confuse the issues. Violence begets violence and this mantra has not reached the ears of the purveyors of deception and violence.
When the terrorists are arrested, media and human right organizations are there to declare them innocent and courts acquits them . So face the music and pray that justice prevails in the country.

@Sultan: As I said Tabs may have done it but this is not their modus operandi and they usually accept responsibility. But if u remember during the 80s similar explosions took place in Peshawar (PIA building was a famous one), DI Khan and across the Frontier, carried out by Khad, the Afghan intel agency at the behest of Soviets. These explosions are in a similar category, targeting civvies and no one claiming responsibility. Maybe u dont know what the Yanks are capable of. Yet.

Hardly any comments that it is beyond time that the country go after the brainwashed Islamic militants and eliminate them totally None of the various groups that keep changing their names or nomenclature are friends of Pakistan. These are Muslims killing fellow Muslims and showing the World that the Religion of Peace is pursuing a course of self destruction. The price of hosting violent extremists for strategic purposes, is it not too high or should another million die before the brains start functioning logically and rationally.

Who told you that Taliban only target military or amn comitteee? They routinely carry out blasts in markets, mosques and public places. 80 percent of the 40,000 dead are civilians.
According to Dawn: "Khan said the blast appeared to be aimed at members of the pro-government Zakha Khel tribe, who oppose a local warlord."

Taliban have routinely and remorselessly murdered civilians. No American objective is served by blowing up a market whereas Taliban have declared war on Pakistan.
The country is running thorugh an undeclared war on its soil. We have nothing to do with this war but still we are recieving casualities. People must understand whats going on with thier country. Its really strange and dirsturbing if an incident like this happens. People please vote for something different as now it seems this will only bring the change. . Lets commiserate for all those who lost thier loved ones.God Bless Pakistan
IF this was the Tabs, they would've: 1) Targeted military personnel, which they usually do or the local amn committee 2) Accepted responsibility immediately
However in the recent spate of damakas (landikotal, bus station) or near misses (bom Defusion at Attock) none of this has happened. Tabs havent said anything and the killed were all civilians. I am not defending the tabs but there is more to it than meets the eye. Yes I am thinking of Kala Paani, if you know what I mean, considering the recent meltdown in Pak-US relationship.
