Budget — an eyewash

Published: June 7, 2012

LAHORE: The budget for the current fiscal year has been an eyewash. There has been no measure taken to relieve the common man of problems like the energy crisis, inflation, tax reforms, corruption and poor governance. What can you expect from a government, which is already under heavy internal and external debt and which presents a budget that has a shortfall of over Rs900 billion.

We have reached this state of affairs because of the support that this government has received from corrupt allies and the friendly opposition. Even a layperson like me can do a better job of getting the country out of the present mess.
