Threat to Asma Jahangir’s life

DALLAS, TEXAS, USA: This is with reference to your editorial “Threat to Asma Jahangir’s life” (June 7). I want to thank The Express Tribune for this courageous and timely editorial. Ms Jahangir is a national asset and she must be protected. She is a remarkable lawyer, who is a brave and compassionate person. She has fought and is still fighting against tyranny and repression and has sacrificed tremendously to uphold our Constitution, rule of law and equal human rights for all, including minorities and women.

All law-abiding citizens of Pakistan must support her and condemn any threats made to her by the establishment. More power to this courageous and brilliant lawyer. I congratulate her for all she has done for democracy and freedom in our country.
