Model-turned-actor Humaima Malick, who rose to fame with Shoaib Mansoor’s Bol last year, is now set to make her entry into Bollywood with a role in action-thriller Sher.
The film, which will be shot in Jaipur, Gujarat and Rajasthan, will see Malick starring opposite Bollywood veteran Sanjay Dutt. Directed by Soham Shah of Kaal fame, the film will also feature Vivek Oberoi and Paresh Rawal. Buzz has it that Malick has taken her Pakistani stylist Akif Ilyas to India for her make-up and styling.
About her role in the film, Malick says, “I feel I’m crossing the border with a role that echoes my earlier film. Like my character in Bol, here too, my character revolts against patriarchy. I am not just the male protagonist’s wife.” The film is narrated in a flashback by Malick after her husband’s death.
In her first Bollywood film, Malick plays the same role as Shabana Azmi’s national award winning role in Vinay Shukla’s Godmother. Godmother, which was released in 1999, was inspired by the life of Santokben Jadeja, a gangster’s wife.
Sher will be released by the end of the year.

Congratulations to the lady on bagging her first Indian film, from the outset she has got the looks and the attitude, Now it is solely her acting skills which would propel her to the A league. Welcome aboard Bollywood Madam. I sincerely hope that she doesn’t end up becoming an also ran (the race) actress.

Agreed 100%. I have had it with Veena Malik’s antics. Hopefully this lady will be more in the mould of Deepika Padukone, or better yet Vidya Balan.

Same as in Hollywood…
Jackie Chan was in his 50s during the Myth
Daniel Craig is now in 40s,so is Brad Pitt,Robert Downey Jr,Johnny Depp,Hugh Jackman and so on
and in most of the movies,their lead pair is in their 20s…..

@shariq Its because if you work with established actors you will get good opportunites . Acctually she can stay in pakistan and work with your handsome actors. Pakistan makes gr8 movies year after year.Not sure why she is coming to India??

I fail to understand why do pakistani artists consider going to Bollywood only for money and fame.I have full respects for actors like Shaan Shahid, who inspite of having many offers from India chose to server his own film industry.

@Ali:
You fail to understand this because you probably do not believe in cross border relations with your neighbor, you dislike them for what they believe in and are probably jelous of the success of their film industry to attract international talent.

@1984:
The balance is not quite as lopsided as Bollywood flicks. Apparently there’s a shortage of age appropriate male talent in India or so it seems. Most love stories in Hollywood tend to use age appropriate couples. Just fits better. Gramps playing young male love interest is a turn off.
