Children’s health: 2nd phase of polio drive begins today

As many as 28 zonal supervisors, 156 area in-charges and 1,055 teams will remain active in City tehsil

FAISALABAD: The three-day second phase of the polio vaccination drive will commence in several areas of the city from Monday (today). District Coordination Officer (DCO) Naseem Sadiq visited the centres on Sunday. He urged the health functionaries to make necessary arrangements to achieve 100 per cent results. “No negligence or lethargy would be tolerated at any cost,” he said while talking to the health officials. He also directed them to ensure that no child was left unattended. He said Union Council 73 and 74 of the City tehsil and Tandlianwala tehsil have been selected for this phase in which 463,118 children up to the age of five years would be administered polio vaccine. The DCO said that 29 zonal supervisors and 160 area in-charges have been deputed in addition to constituting 1,081 teams to administer the vaccine to the children. As many as 28 zonal supervisors, 156 area in-charges and 1,055 teams will remain active in City tehsil, where as one supervisor, four area in-charge and 26 teams will perform their duties in Tandlianwala tehsil.
