KOHAT: At least four militants, including a commander, were killed in an attack by security forces in the Sra Garhi area of Dabori, Upper Orakzai Agency, security officials said on Sunday.

The clash erupted during the early  hours of Sunday when security forces advanced to clear the area from militants, an official of the security forces said that this area was the stronghold of Gul Zaman  group, the Orakzai chapter of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

Officials claimed that they gunned down an important militant commander identified as Rahim, without any casualty from the side of the forces.

Security officials also added that they have started a military operation in Central Kurram Agency and Upper Orakzai Agency and have cleared most of the area from militants.

“We got control of Jamal Mela in Central Kurram,” said an official.

In Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA), Orakzai agency is the second smallest agency after the Bajaur Agency which shares borders with the Kurram and Khyber agencies and is the only agency which doesn’t share its border with Afghanistan.

Query — you fighting these militants on behalf of the USA or are you fighting these militants on behalf of Pakistan? Seems to me that Pakistan has ramped up the level of combat with militants ever since it closed the NATO supply line — does that mean that after abandoning the WOT Pakistan discovered the militants have there own agenda and want to take over Pakistan regardless of who you ally with?
