KARACHI: “Lal Masjid: rewarding an insurrection” (May 21) by Dr Pervez Hoodbhoy is the best article I have read on the sordid affair of the Lal Masjid terrorists. It was extremely well written and to the point and the writer didn’t pull any punches. What I found most interesting was that, in the comments that followed the piece, there was overwhelming support for the action that was taken against the revolutionary fanatics and a waning respect for the judiciary because of its decision.
Dr Pervez Hoodbhoy is one of the most prolific writers this country has seen. Balanced, objective and remarkably alert, he is always a pleasure to read. I loved his final paragraph. It said it all.
