RIYADH:

Saudi authorities on Sunday beheaded two Pakistanis in Makkah finding them guilty of two murders, the interior ministry said.

Bashir Afridi and Rahmulwahab Abdullah, both Pakistanis, murdered and robbed Mohammed Haji, a fellow Pakistani, the ministry said in a statement carried by state news agency SPA.

The two also killed a woman and caused the death of another, SPA reported, without revealing the nationalities of the two women.

The beheadings bring to 28 the total number of executions in the ultra-conservative kingdom so far this year, according to an AFP tally based on official reports.

Under the AFP count, at least 76 people were beheaded in 2011 in Saudi Arabia, while rights group Amnesty International put the number of executions last year at 79.

So true! I am up for Shariah but not the kind practiced in Saudi Arabia. Shariah declares everybody equal. It is this discriminatory imposition of the Shariah Law that has made everybody hate it even though it is the best system.

No, it is the Sharia law. The Saudis are following Sharia as per the scriptural teachings.

What makes you think the Sharia practiced in Saudi Arabia is not the true Sharia? The right wing parties in Pakistan are demanding exactly the same Sharia practiced in Saudi Arabia because they believe it is the true Sharia and true Islam.

Saudis don’t see you as an equal, so why should there be equal punishment for the same crime.

Who gave the right to Saudi govt to behead our citizens? But ofcourse, when it comes to Saudi Arabia, we all become chickens (even if call ourselves brave otherwise). I highly protest this act. They should have been hanged in Pakistan.

Disgusting!, nobody should have the right to kill someone, Why not keep them in seclusion for the rest of their lives, I mean they can’t harm the innocents if they are in jail, but they don’t seem to understand it so they just kill them off. Death is a very serious thing, and yet they still do it. Whether they believe there is an afterlife or not, they just lost their ability to live and love all that was in their old life. Permanently.,why take the cowards way out and just kill them? The law in saudi arabia is way too extreme, what are they showing? that its alright to kill people who have done wrong?

What you say is humanistic but that is not what Sharia prescribes.
