Islamabad’s dangerous roads

Letter May 21, 2012
Traffic police should be more vigilant with drivers who drive recklessly and/or well above posted speeding limits.

ISLAMABAD:

Islamabad has wide roads and chances of having accidents are relatively low, compared to, say, more crowded cities like Lahore or Karachi. But this very fact probably encourages reckless driving. What we need is for the traffic police to be more vigilant in catching and prosecuting those drivers — both of cars as well as motorcycles — who drives recklessly and/or well above posted speeding limits. If this is done, it could act as a deterrent against other would-be thrill-seeking drivers.
