Islamabad’s dangerous roads

Published: May 21, 2012

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad has wide roads and chances of having accidents are relatively low, compared to, say, more crowded cities like Lahore or Karachi. But this very fact probably encourages reckless driving. What we need is for the traffic police to be more vigilant in catching and prosecuting those drivers — both of cars as well as motorcycles — who drives recklessly and/or well above posted speeding limits. If this is done, it could act as a deterrent against other would-be thrill-seeking drivers.

Yes, Islamabad Traffic Police should be more strict. I see them being very lenient and lethargic these days.
