Tennis: Aqeel, Abid advance to double’s final

Moved into the doubles final of the All Pakistan Chief Minster Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Ranking Tennis Championship.

PESHAWAR: Top-seeds Aqeel Khan and Muhammad Abid moved into the doubles final of the All Pakistan Chief Minster Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Ranking Tennis Championship at Garrison Club, Peshawar. In the first semi-final, Aqeel and Abid defeated Irfan and Shehzad of Pakistan Air Force 6-4, 6-3. In the other semi-final, Yasir Khan and Rashid Khan outplayed Sanaullah and Shahid Afridi 6-3, 6-4. In the singles quarter-finals, Aqeel, Yasir, Abid and Usman Rafique won their matches to seal a last-four berth. In the under-18 quarter-finals, Kashanul Haq beat Muhammad Mudasir 6-2, 4-6, 7-5 while Rashid Khan outplayed Hasnain Manzor 6-3, 6-2. Ahmad Baber beat Nofil Kaleem 6-1, 6-2 and Arham Atique thrashed Ejaz Khan 6-4, 2-6, 7-5.
