Demise: PAF Faisal Base commander passes away

KARACHI: The Base Commander of Pakistan Air Force’s (PAF) Faisal Base, Air Commodore Akmal Abbas Khan passed away following a cardiac arrest, on Wednesday.

According to the PAF spokesperson, Khan was battling ill health for almost a month. His funeral prayers were offered at the PAF Base Faisal and his body was flown to Lahore so he could be laid to rest in his hometown. Khan leaves behind his wife, a daughter and two sons.

    Your entire 79th GD(P) and 23rd Engineering course misses you.
    I was hoping you will soon visit me here in USA, but you didn’t keep your promise, and left to soon to a far land. So, long my friend. Rest in peace.

    Air Cdre Akmal was a very talented, determined and thorough professional. His contribution in furthering the mission of PAF will always be acknowledged.
