ISLAMABAD:

PML-N President Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday distributed cheques among heirs of 101 ‘missing persons’ at the Punjab House in the federal capital.

The heirs of missing persons were short-listed by Defence of Human Rights Pakistan Chairperson Amna Masood Janjua. Addressing the participants, Nawaz said that the ‘missing persons’ issue should be resolved.

These people should be brought before the courts and also allowed to meet their families, he added. Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan appreciated Janjua’s efforts for the recovery of missing persons.

He said the PML-N had raised the missing persons issue in parliament during the era of former president Pervez Musharraf. Janjua pointed out that the families of missing persons were running out of resources and appreciated the PML-N for providing them financial support.

If someone does something good, and helps out people in need, we should keep our cynicism aside and appreciate it.
