KARACHI: The health services department launched a citywide fumigation and insecticide campaign from Monday as part of a plan to prevent the spread of malaria and dengue. Officials would begin spraying insecticide in district south from today and then proceed to district east from May 16 to 18, district central from 21-22 May, Malir district from May 23 to 24 and district west from May 25 to 28. Fumigation campaign across all district councils of Karachi would be carried out on May 29 and 30. Officials were directed to ensure that each area is thoroughly sprayed and to submit daily progress reports to senior director of the department.
