The amount of media coverage that a plane crash gets is far greater than say incidents of sectarian violence.
KARACHI: The crash of a passenger plane is a great human loss and we should all mourn this event. However, there is one thing that bothers me. The amount of media coverage that a plane crash gets is far greater than say incidents of sectarian violence. Take for instance, the shooting deaths of bus passengers — all Shias — in Mastung, Balochistan and on the Karakoram Highway in Gilgit-Baltistan. Would it be too much to ask the media, especially our television channels, to also give this issue the coverage that it deserves?
Also, if I may ask most respectfully, the superior courts hauled up a female MPA for slapping election staff but so far, they have not taken suo motu notice of these sectarian killings.
