Pop singer and actor Atif Aslam will soon be seen and heard on the big screen again as he is currently recording music for a Bollywood film, reports koolmuzone.com.

Tips Films posted a photo of the ex-Jal member in Turkey with Jay Shewakramani, the creative producer of the Bollywood film Race 2, and made an official announcement that Aslam will be doing songs for their upcoming production. Race 2 will be directed by Abbas Mustan and produced under the Tips Music Films banner. It is the sequel to the 2008 hit film, Race, and stars an ensemble cast that includes Anil Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, John Abraham, Deepika Padukone, Jacqueline Fernandez and Ameesha Patel.

According to pakium.com, Aslam, who has given various hits like “Tere Bin”, “Tera Honay Laga Hun” and “Tu Mohabbat Hai”, is set to do two new songs for the film. Like the 2008 super hit film Race, for which Aslam sang the chartbuster song “Pehli Nazar”, the music of its sequel will be done by music director and composer, Pritam Chakraborty.

The latest buzz suggests that like Race, Aslam will also appear in a promotional music video for Race 2, which is scheduled to release on January 25, 2013.

Apart from that, the pop singer is set to return to the latest season of “Coke Studio”; having a total of four performances in the fifth season of the show.

    sir, if he was not identified by Bollywood or by India..in that case Pakistan would have never identified him.
    he is famous in Pakistan, because he became famous in India.

    @ Rahul,
    Atif Aslam was famous way back in 2004 because of his hit song Aadat, before he made any sort of entry in Bolloywood.

    WRONG BUDDY…………….Atif Aslam gained popularity IN Pakistan and became known in PAKISTAN first …..and that was way back in 2004 when he was with JAL and made the hit song ‘Aadat’…..so to counter your argument

    He is famous in India because he was and still is famous in Pakistan and Abhijeet loves him !

    @Sameed Basha:
    YOU should know that Sonu Nigam has sung 20000 Songs including White house infront of George Bush and Oprah Winfrey ..he is the only singer from Asia to be featured in Larry King Live @CNN in US and India has 4 Grammy Award Winners which is the highest Global Music Awards…so singing 10-15 sufiana songs makes very negligible effect in India … Even atif aslam frm pak has also sung in Qurbani and was a craze for few years … NOBODY KNOWS WHERE HE IS

    As for Sonu Nigham, he maybe a a very famous singer in India but many in Pak have never heard of him. He is not famous here though he has performed here. Only notable Indian singers were in the old era like Rafi, Lata, Kishore Kumar etc. They were legendary and are still famous in Pak but sorry not Sonu.Recommend

    I think it’s pointless fighting who is who. The fact remains that both sonu nigam ( i am big fan ) and asif aslam are great singers. But also respect the fact that all Pakistani singers were famous before going to India. I have been following asif aslam and old jal when they we’re an underground band with hits like aadat.

    By going to india, Indian public appreciates their music and that’s how they are introduced and recognized in that set of population but to say that farhan saeed, rahat fathey, nusrat fathey, ali zafar, Ali haider, Roxane etc were unknown before is simply wrong.

    Its a matter of personal taste. Atif is a star and he plays his instrument (guitar) which is a plus and makes him more real as a musician. also he doesnt have any airs about himself and always makes time for his fans which makes him more likeable. sonu has no doubt sung a lot but the fact is Sonu was denied permission by UK embassy to perform in London recently but Atif was good enough to sell out the O2 Arena in London last month….. and everyone who knows this in India respects that is a big feat! —

    and hey, its a good thing if pakistani artists are appreciated in india. it shows a cultural maturity coming along and is much needed in these troubled times.
