HYDERABAD:

I will keep coming to Sindh until I unite everyone under the flag of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, said Nawaz Sharif in his telephonic address to a rally organised by his party in Thatta on Sunday.

PML-N Sindh president Ghaus Ali Shah, Marvi Memon and other leaders also spoke during the “Go Gilani go” rally outside the Thatta Press Club. Nawaz blamed the Pakistan Peoples Party-led government for failing to deal with problems like poverty, unemployment, power outages and inflation.

“God willing, if we came to power we will solve all your problems. Sindh and its people will be prosperous again.” Nawaz did not mention Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani in his speech. However, activists routinely shouted slogans against Gilani, while Ghous Ali Shah demanded that he quit his post as the Supreme Court had ruled against him. Shah seemed optimistic that the people of the province would vote for the PML-N in the next elections.

PML-N wants the revival of 90s once again. In four year tenure they ruled the largest and most productive province of this country but did nothing. Now they want to put all the blame on Government by betraying people. However, if centre is responsible for any wrong doing than their share is more than equal. Since the conviction of Prime Minister (PM) Yousaf Raza Gilani by the Supreme Court for contempt, the opposition PML-N has ‘gone on the warpath’ against the PM and the PPP-led coalition government. This ‘Go Gilani Go’ campaign was launched without proper homework or taking the other opposition parties on board. The ‘solo’ flight of the PML-N therefore has failed to yield the desired results, despite Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif personally joining and egging on the anti-load shedding protests and elder brother Nawaz Sharif threatening to do the same unless the problem is resolved within four days. In the process, the language being used by the PML-N leaders against the PPP, its leadership and the government has turned increasingly bitter, violent, abusive and denigratory.
