Woman, brother-in-law shot dead in Rajanpur

Police has taken both bodies into custody and sent them for autopsies.

LAHORE: A man shot dead his sister-in-law and brother over allegations of illicit relations between the two in the Rakh Azmat Wala area of Rajanpur on Friday.

Police said that the accused, Zaffar Hussain, had given “toxic syrup” to all the family members, and had shot dead Hanifan Mai (the wife of his brother Barkat) and his brother Nazar Hussain when everyone had fallen unconscious.

The deceased woman was the mother of five children and the deceased man was her brother-in-law, they resided in the same house, Station House Office (SHO) police station Dajal, Bilal Aslam told The Express Tribune.

The SHO said that the accused and an unknown accomplice had managed to escape from the scene after the incident. He said that the accused will be arrested soon and raids were being conducted to ensure this.

Police took both bodies into custody and had sent them for autopsies.

A case was registered at Dajal Police Station under Section 302 and 34 of Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) vide FIR No177/2012 on the complaint of Muhammad Nadir Khosa.
