Barred from cheating: Miscreants thrash college principal in Karachi

Teachers announce boycotting intermediate exams being held tomorrow in protest.

KARACHI: The principal of Government National College Bahadurabad, Karachi, was beaten up and the equipment in his room was trashed after college authorities tried to restrict intermediate students from cheating during their exam, Express News reported on Wednesday.

Several outsiders barged into the college after students, belonging to political parties, were barred from cheating during their exam.

The miscreants tortured several teachers and broke furniture of the college. They threatened staff with serious consequences if the students were not allowed to cheat.

In protest, the administration of the college refused to take the commerce exam due to be held in the afternoon. According to the Karachi board, the afternoon exam will be held at the board office.

Sindh Professors and Lecturers Association President Muzaffar Rizvi announced that the teachers will boycott all intermediate papers being taken tomorrow.

The teachers demanded that they be provided with adequate security during examinations.
