LAHORE: A student of a local college in Lahore was crushed to death by a CNG bus on early Monday morning when he was about to get on the bus near Dharampura Underpass, Express News reported.
Tabish, a resident of the Mughalpura area of Lahore tripped over as the driver, who operated the automatic door, shut it despite objections from other students.
The bus drove over him after he fell on the road.
Other students aboard on the bus forced the driver to pull over and told the passengers to get off the bus after which they set the bus and the following two buses, alight.
Rescue 1122 and the police reached the accident site.
The infuriated students raised slogans against the driver and demanded for his immediate arrest.
Tabish’s body was later taken to the hospital in a police mobile, accompanied by his elder brother.
The fire brigade tried to extinguish the fire which had engulfed the buses, but could not completely put it off and the buses were completely destroyed as a result.

Sadia, If You ever had a chance to travel in local buses in college timings. You will see that students fighting to catch over crowded buses. They enjoy standing in door instead of standing inside. And this is what happens then. And "Mr. Imran" We do condemn this sad event, But the purpose of this dialogue is not to annoy anyone.
Its the fault of the student who catches the bus like this and also the bus conductor is responsible for this incident he should not allow the passengers to come in if the full is already full ... the protesters should be shameful on their act of burning the buses , what should happen by doing this they should think about this , the person who has lost his life would not come back by doing these shameful acts.
Already have lot of surplus buses running around so burning buses is the answar to over come the shortage of buses used as poor man transport. As an award the Govt must elimnate this route or stop.
Where is the decency?!?
Some one died and you all are trying to be "Liberal" .
I second Ali, I have also seen some times students trying stunt in buses. It is sad to hear the news. But the student must observe care to avoid future accidents.
shame on educated ignorants on all count the news that I have got is that it was students fault and add to that the destruction of public property tomorrow they will complain they have no transport what is most saddening is that this is the behaviour of the highly educated what to expect from ordinary people
and this is the enlightened youth who will bring change in this country. i wonder if they know the meaning of justice at any level.
I have heard from locals that this student was trying to tease a nearby standing girl, and lost control of himself while riding the bus. ET, Please clarify and report that too.
It could have been accident, or the mistake of the driver. What was the point in burning millions worth of public property.
In my opinion, its the students fault. Why they risk their own life and do stunts on the buses. Every student has a mobile phone, is it necessary or the bicycle to travel to the school college?
