Rugby: Irish coach hired by Pakistan

Pakistan Rugby Union (PRU) has appointed Ireland’s Justin Fitzpatrick as coach for the national team.

The Pakistan Rugby Union (PRU) has appointed Ireland’s Justin Fitzpatrick as coach for the national team, according to a press release. Fitzpatrick will join the national team’s training camp, currently underway at the Lahore Rugby ground. The former Irish national player featured for his team from 1998 to 2003, including a World Cup.

Meanwhile, PRU President Fawzi Khawaja and secretary Arif Saeed lauded the team’s efforts ahead of the Asian 5-Nation Tournament in Kuala Lumpur scheduled for later this month. Pakistan play their opening fixture against India on May 31.
