Environment day: 36 NGOs get Rs100,000 each

LAHORE: The Environment Protection Agency on Thursday gave 36 non-government organisations cheques for Rs100,000 each to organise activities marking Environment Day on June 5. EPA spokesman Naseemur Rehman told The Express Tribune that the NGOs would be given a grant of Rs200,000 each. The second installment will be paid in June. The activities include tree plantation by school children, installing garbage containers and dustbins, and organising walks and seminars.
