ATTOCK: He finally ended up behind bars. After being on the run for almost nine years, the police finally arrested a proclaimed offender on Thursday. The suspect, Riffat Khan, was wanted for three separate murder cases and the government of Punjab had announced a reward of Rs50,000 for his whereabouts. According to sources in the CIA police, Khan was arrested from Aurangabad in Jand tehsil after the police raided his hideout upon receiving a tip-off. They said he had committed two murders in 2003 and in 2006, adding that his brother Ghulam Abbas was killed in an encounter with the police. Khan, however, managed to escape, after which he committed another murder in 2009. The suspect will be presented before a court of magistrate on Friday.
