On drone strikes
ISLAMABAD: This is with reference to “North Waziristan — a first-hand account” (May 1). In the article, the writer has mentioned that the people in North Waziristan welcome drone attacks. I agree with this observation because drones are known for their accuracy, extensive electronic eavesdropping and night-attack capabilities.
Attacking terrorists through F-16s or gunships is not the solution as these cause greater collateral damage, and the mere noise that jets and gunships create from a great distance, drives terrorists deeper into their extensive cave networks in the mountains.

Religious extremism in Punjab
Perhaps we should do away with our justice system and use drones for combating crime in our cities as well since they are so accurate at hitting the right targets. In fact, it could probably solve our problem of target killing in Karachi, no need for the police!
Maybe when we’ll have drones raining on our cities with our children at risk of being bombed due to some bad neighbors we have, that we’d realize the immorality and the illegality of drone strikes in themselves.

No foreign country should be allowed to invade our air space and kill our people, no matter how guilty they are. Law enforcement in Pakistan, is the responsibility of the state of Pakistan.

They need to either get drone technologies and operate it themselves or shoot the drones and take anti terrorism action themselves.
