Abduction: City police directed to recover kidnapped woman

Abducted allegedly over converting and marrying against her family’s wishes.

Sadiqabad City police have started looking for a woman abducted allegedly over converting and marrying against her family’s wishes.


The investigation follows directions by Additional District and Sessions Judge Malik Ali Raza Awan that the woman be recovered and produced in the court.

Complainant Mohammad Ramazan had accused his in-laws of kidnapping his wife for converting to Islam and marrying him.

Ramazan, a Mohajir Colony resident, said she had left her parents and married him some months ago.

On Friday, he said, she was abducted from their home  while he was at work.

He accused his in-laws of kidnapping her. He said that the couple had earlier received death threats from them.

SHO Mohammad Aslam Khan told The Express Tribune that ASI Ishtiaq Ahmed was assigned investigation of the case after court orders were received on Sunday. He said an FIR would be registered after investigation was complete.
