The Additional Inspector General (AIG) Karachi Akhtar Hussain Gorchani agreed with this statement and so did some policemen, but among them were those who begged to differ, saying there was a need for change in the way policemen think rather than dress.
IG Punjab on April 4, had directed senior police officers to send their recommendation regarding the proposed change in police uniform by the next regional police officers conference.
The IG directed all RPOs, deputy police officers and sectional heads to furnish their recommendations on the implementation of the decision.
Correction: An earlier version of this story incorrectly mentioned Akhtar Hussain Gorchani as IG Sindh. The error has been rectified.

Salman khan of dabang. Thumbs up if you see and agree
The IG Sindh is Mushtaq Shah, not the guy shown. He's the Additional IG Karachi Gorchani who 's jurisdiction is only limited to Karachi. Express Tribune get your story straight.
If anyone has had any dealing with the Motorway Police, one will notice a marked difference between them and the normal Police. The Motorway Police are better trained, better paid and are held accountable. This is not the case with the normal Police. But I would not blame the politicians who use the Police for doing their bidding, legal or illegal.
This is unfortunate in this country that the law and those who enforce it, both are so hard at common man and don't say anything to those who are in power. Now every body thinks that law is only for poor and for those who don't have any references and personal relations in police. Only changing the uniform doesn't change the mindset.
This uniform has become a symbol of hate and fear
