HYDERABAD:

Sindhi nationalist leaders have signalled at becoming part of a national civil disobedience movement if Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani does not resign after being convicted by the Supreme Court.

After holding a meeting on Friday, the Sindh National Progressive Alliance (SPNA) addressed a news conference, during which they accused the Pakistan Peoples Party of paving way for a military takeover in the country.

The SPNA leaders also condemned the act of the prime minister’s office being held by a convict and demanded the resignation of the government.

“This is an open verdict of Sindhis against the PPP. They have been let down time and again by a party that claims to have the ‘Sindh card’,” Sindh United Party chief Jalal Shah said.
