Cricket: World Cup U-19 trials today

The trials to select Pakistan’s preliminary under-19 World Cup squad will start at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore today.


The selection committee, head by former spinner Iqbal Qasim, will supervise the trials in the presence of head coach Dav Whatmore.

As many as 75 players from all over Pakistan are expected to feature in the trials from which the selectors will shortlist a preliminary squad of 30 for the World Cup which will be held in Australia in August.

The Pakistan Cricket Board announced earlier that Whatmore will play a key role in selecting the U19 squad.
