KARACHI: I agree with Ejaz Haider’s brilliant article “Tragedy and assorted morons” (April 25) about the insensitive antics being pulled off in the name of free media. Every time a tragedy strikes our unfortunate nation, the media assumes the responsibility of broadcasting live the suffering of the victims and their family members. During the live coverage of the recent ill-fated Bhoja Air crash, one hyper reporter, after taking all possible information from a grief-stricken husband, asked the final question: “Now that she is gone, what do you think your life would be like?”
It is high time to set up proper reporting guidelines and a code of conduct for the so-called free media.
