Eradicating Disease: Anti-polio drive kicks off in 27 districts

Control room has been set up at the Provincial Secretariat to closely monitor the campaign in Quetta.

QUETTA: A three-day anti-polio drive commenced in 27 districts of Balochistan on Monday wherein over 1.5 million children below the age of five will be administered the polio vaccine.

A control room has been set up at the Provincial Secretariat to closely monitor the campaign in Quetta. Provincial teams of EPI, WHO and UNICEF will also monitor the campaign. As many as 4,549 mobile teams, 608 fixed site teams, 70 border teams and 227 transit teams will take part in the campaign. These teams are being assisted by area in-charges, Lady Health Workers and health department officials.
