Bank robbery: Rs9.5 million heist in Bank Al-Habib at Tipu Sultan

Police suspect security guard was involved because he disappeared when the police arrived at the scene.

KARACHI:

Five to six men robbed Bank Al-Habib’s Tipu Sultan branch late on Monday night and escaped with Rs9.5 million.

The police said that they suspect that the security guard was involved because he disappeared when the police arrived at the scene. SHO Haji Sanaullah confirmed that the men were able to take away Rs9.5 million from the strong room. The police were waiting for the bank administration to open the bank so they could inspect it.

Sanaullah said that the police were trying to find out whether the robbers took away the CCTV footage with them or not. No case was registered till the filing of this news story.
